Am I eligible to register for an ADP Certified Product Specialist Program?  

Product certifications are only offered to ADP clients or Official ADP Partners: 

  • that utilize the product indicated in the specialist certification and can only be accessed through their internal MyLearning at ADP, using single sign on access. 

  • Clients or Official Partners who utilize Workforce Now, or the RUN Wholesale Partner systems.   

Additionally, you must have a minimum of six months experience utilizing the product, and experience going through a minimum one year-end cycle utilizing the product and administrative product credentials.  

This program is NOT: 

  • geared towards clients who utilize our Comprehensive Services products or Enhanced Time product. If you are a Comprehensive Services Client, please connect with your HRBP for information on what is available for you.

  • open to the general public who are not clients of ADP.  

  • a program for job seeking individuals to gain employment with ADP if you do not meet the eligibility requirements. 

 

How do I purchase the ADP Product Specialist Certification Program?  

Select the certification you want from the Home Page and follow the instructions to purchase. 

 

Why is the Workforce Now Product Certification not geared towards the Comprehensive Services product?  

The Comprehensive Services client facing software experience is different as the service model does not lend itself to product certification since the product experts are within ADP and not within the client base.   

 

What happens after I purchase the certification program?

After your purchase, you will receive two email notifications alerting you to the status of your certification program. 

  1. Purchase confirmation: Sent via email to you saying the ADP Certified Product Specialist program that was purchased. 

  1. Learning Path Access: Within 24-48 hours after purchase, you will receive instructions on how to access and complete your ADP Certified Product Specialist learning path.  This learning path has mandatory preparatory courses, including a practice exam. All exams will be listed as the last course in your learning path.  

 

What happens if I purchase more than one ADP Certified Product Specialist program?  

We highly recommend you only purchase one certification program per individual candidate at a time.  Each program has a specific duration with tight expiration dates. For more information, please review the learning requirements of each program at myLearning at ADP.  

 

What happens after I take the final certification exam? 

You'll receive a score report at the end of the exam indicating whether you received a Pass or Fail grade.   80% or higher is considered a passing score on the final exam.  

The passing score for the ADP Certified Product Specialist exams were derived from a combination of subject matter expert opinions based on minimal competence and observations about how well the exams differentiate between high-performing and low-performing candidates.   

The score report will include diagnostic scores showing performance in each knowledge area. These scores allow you to evaluate your own performance within each knowledge area. See next section for an example of a score report. 

ADP offers one free retake if you fail the final exam the first time. See retake policy section of this document.  

 

Can I find out whether I answered specific questions correctly or incorrectly? 

To maintain the integrity of the exam, questions and answers won’t be made available. Your best course of action is to review your percentage scores for the exam sections listed on your score report to determine how well you did on each section. Then compare your scores to the “Exam Description and Topics” section of the Certification Guide to target the topic areas to review. 

In this example the candidate would need to refresh their knowledge in all areas, where the score is below an 80%, but you can see the score is especially low in the category of ‘Maintaining Employee Status’. This candidate will want to spend some extra time reviewing any areas they are particularly week in.

 

When or how will I receive my certificate and badge when I pass the final exam? 

  • Preparation Course Certificate - You can download a copy of your completion certificate by going to myLearning at ADP "Achievements" tab.  
  • ADP Product Certification Certificate - A copy of your completion certificate can also be downloaded from myLearning at ADP "Achievements" tab.   
  • Digital Badge - You will receive an email from admin@credly.com letting you know that ADP issued you a new badge within 1-2 weeks after earning your certification. This communication includes steps on how to accept, manage and share your accomplishment!  You can also download a copy of your digital certificate. Find more information on digital badges here.  

 

What if I do not receive the digital badge within 2 weeks?  

First check your junk mail folder for admin@credly.com.

How long is my certification valid? 

Your ADP Professional Certification is valid for three (3) calendar years from the date you successfully completed the exam.  

 

How do I maintain my certification? 

Earning your certification is a big step and as an ADP Product Specialist Certification Expert you must prove continued competence in using our ADP solutions.  To make it easy for you to maintain your certification, we will automatically assign the course "Maintaining Your ADP Product Specialist Certification Status" after passing the exam. This course outlines the requirements to maintain your certification and the activities could include: 

  • Completion of our product release, seasonal training, and webinars such as year-end and quarter-end training.  (Proof of attendance will be required) 

  • Completion of advanced product training. (Record in your learning history) 

  • Participating in any ADP Client Conference such as Pro Conference or Meeting of the Minds. Practitioners will be required to upload proof of attendance or participation.   

 

You can submit your proof of renewal 6 months prior to your expiration date.  

 

What do I do if my online exam is interrupted or if I experience technical issues?  

Try the following:  

1. Refresh your web browser to return to the exam. Make sure your answers are saved before continuing with the exam.  

2. Reconnect to the Internet and log back into myLearning@adp.com Follow your original instructions to access the exam. Make sure you start where you left off. 

For U.S (United States) clients:  If the above steps do not work, contact our team by sending an email to enterpriselearningsupport@adp.com. We will respond to you within 24-48 hours with a resolution.  
 
For International clients: If the above steps do not work, please open a ticket via ADP eService Portal. 

 

What is your exam integrity policy?  

ADP is dedicated to keeping the highest levels of security, integrity, and validity for all our examination programs. We maintain the integrity of the ADP Product Certification Program by ensuring that: 

1. Only qualified individuals pass our exams and earn ADP Product certifications.  

2. No candidate has an unfair advantage over another  

3. Exam content is secure and not shared or posted to a public forum, including social media sites.  

Exam takers are reminded of these responsibilities during the practice exam and exam acknowledgement, presented immediately before beginning it.  

Candidates who violate the Agreement, or any Certification policies or requirements will have disciplinary action taken against them.  

 

Which ADP products offer Product specialist certification? 

ADP offers Product Specialist certification for ADP Workforce Now® Payroll, HR, and Time, Accountant ConnectSM and RUN Powered by ADP® Payroll for Partners. Certification for other ADP solutions will be available in the future and will be added on this site.

How do I reschedule a preparation course? 

To reschedule a virtual instructor-led course, you must first unregister from your current session.  Once you have completed that step, you can register for a different session date.   

For Employers: How can I verify the authenticity of my employee’s certification?  

We maintain a database of those who are certified, however we cannot legally share that information. Every candidate who passes the exam is provided with an official certificate from ADP and a digital badge. We recommend that employers ask for proof of certification by requiring that the candidate provide a copy of their certificate and/or a link to the digital badge.  

 

Can I use accessibility tools such as screen readers?  

Yes, our content is designed to be compatible with ADA technology for all required elements of the training program.   

Does ADP provide ADA technology or support for adaptive technology?  

No. ADP does not provide the ADA tools, nor are we able to offer support on how to use any ADA tools. Please contact your employer for any ADA needs you may have.  Our content should be compatible with the assistive technology. Please inform us if there are issues with the content compatibility.  

 

Will I be able to maintain my certification if I no longer work at a company that uses ADP technology?  

No, unfortunately you must have access to the software as a practitioner within the 3-year period to access the systems, renew your certification and have knowledge of the product's features.
