Eligibility Criteria: 

• You must be a current client using ADP Workforce Now with practitioner access. 
• You must have a minimum of 6 months in the product as a practitioner and have gone through one full year end cycle. 
• Comprehensive Services clients with Comprehensive Payroll are NOT eligible for this certification. If you are a Comp Payroll client, please reach out to your HRBP for more information.

Preparation Course and Study Resources

This Program Outline will help you prepare for the Certified Payroll Specialist in ADP Workforce Now Exam. The program is made up of self-paced eLearning courses, 2 virtual instructor led sessions and optional office hours.  

It requires you to spend approximately 1-2 hours/week for 12 weeks to complete the courses in your assigned learning path in myLearning@ADP. Once you have completed all required coursework you will complete a practice exam, and then the certification exam itself. The certification exam is assigned to you after passing the practice exam with a score of 85% or higher.  To pass the certification exam you must score 80% or higher. 

This program has defined durations for each phase: 12-weeks to complete the coursework, 2-weeks to pass the practice exam, 2-weeks to pass the final exam. 

Topics prepare participants to use company setup options, user preferences, payroll system options, year-end processing tasks, completing adjustments and advanced features.

Exam Description and Topics

The ADP Certified Payroll Specialist in ADP Workforce Now exam is made up of approximately 75 multiple-choice questions and is based on concepts and experiences that should be familiar to a proficient Payroll practitioner with at least six months’ experience, including year-end, using ADP Workforce Now. The concepts and topic areas of the exam are derived from a training analysis study.

The approximate percentage of questions in each area is shown in the following list:

II. Payroll Cycle (25%)
III. Payroll Output Review (11%)
IV. Employee Maintenance (13%)
V. Entering Pay Information (27%)
VI. Manual Checks/Voids/Reversals (9%)
