Certified Benefits Specialist Program in ADP Workforce Now®

Eligibility Criteria: 

• You must be a current client using ADP Workforce Now with practitioner access. 
• You must have a minimum of 6 months in the product as a practitioner and have gone through one full open enrollment period. 
• Comprehensive Services clients with Comprehensive Benefits are NOT eligible for this certification. If you are a Comp Benefits client, please reach out to your HRBP for more information.

Preparation Course and Study Resources

This Program Outline will help you prepare for the Certified Benefits Specialist in ADP Workforce Now Exam. The program is made up of self-paced eLearning courses, 3 virtual instructor led sessions and optional office hours.  

It requires you to spend approximately 1-2 hours/week for 8 weeks to complete the courses in your assigned learning path in myLearning@ADP. Once you have completed all required coursework you will complete a practice exam, and then the certification exam itself. The certification exam is assigned to you after passing the practice exam with a score of 85% or higher.  To pass the certification exam you must score 80% or higher. 

This program has defined durations for each phase: 8-weeks to complete the coursework, 2-weeks to pass the practice exam, 2-weeks to pass the final exam. 

Topics in this program prepare participants for the ADP Certified Benefits Specialist Exam as well as benefit plans setup and maintenance, using the open enrollment center and the benefits dashboard, employee self-service for benefits enrollment and effective dating.  

Exam Description and Topics

The ADP Certified Benefits Specialist in ADP Workforce Now exam is made up of approximately 40 multiple-choice questions and is based on concepts and experiences that should be familiar to a proficient Benefits practitioner with at least six months’ experience, including an open enrollment period, using ADP Workforce Now. The concepts and topic areas of the exam are derived from a training analysis study.

The approximate percentage of questions in each area is shown in the following list:

I. Setting Up the Benefits Feature (20%)
II. Setting Up and Maintaining Benefit Plans (25%)
III. Working with the Open Enrollment Center and the Benefits Dashboard (20%)
IV. Using the General ADP Workforce Now Features (as they relate to Benefits) (10%)
