Preparation Course and Study Resources

This 9-week Learning Plan will help you prepare for the ADP Workforce Now® Certified Human Resources Specialist certification exam.

The program is a combination of self-study, eLearning, and one instructor-led session, with optional office hours. The instructor-led class for Preparing for Human Resources Certification for ADP Workforce Now® will be trained in-person prior to the start of Pro Summit on April 29, 2026, in the morning, 9:30-11:30 AM.

To complete the courses in your assigned learning path in myLearning@ADP, the program requires a commitment of 1 to 2 hours/week for 7 weeks. The plan also includes an optional self-study week.

Once you have completed all your required coursework, including attending either the in-person/onsite or the virtual version of the instructor-led training, you will complete the practice exam, and then the certification exam itself. You will have, at a minimum, 30 days post-Pro Summit to complete your program and take your final exam.  The certification exam is assigned to you the first business morning after passing the practice exam with a score of 85% or higher. The final exam is assigned between 10 AM EST and 1 PM EST and you will be notified when it is assigned.

Topics in this program prepare participants for the ADP Certified Human Resource Specialist Exam as well as maintaining employee information, the impacts of changing an employee’s status, transferring employees, and effective dating.
