Purchasing Process

Purchasing of the Pro Summit – ADP Workforce Now® Certified Payroll Specialist Program can only be done using a credit card.Invoicing is not available for this product.

As noted above, this offer is limited to one purchase per Pro Summit attendee. After purchase, the certification program learning path will be assigned to you on February
4, 2025.

Preparation Course and Study Resources

This 12-week Learning Plan will help you prepare for the ADP Workforce Now® Certified Payroll Specialist certification exam.

The program is a combination of self-study, eLearning, and two instructor-led sessions, with optional office hours. The instructor-led class for Reviewing Company-Level Setup, the Payroll Cycle, and Employee Maintenance in ADP Workforce Now® will be trained in-person prior to the start of Pro Summit on May 14, 2025, in the morning, 9:30-11:30 AM.

To complete the courses in your assigned learning path in myLearning@ADP, the program requires a commitment of 1 to 2 hours/week for 10 weeks. The plan also includes an optional self-study week.

Once you have completed all your required coursework - including attending either the in-person/onsite or the virtual version of the instructor-led training – you will complete the practice exam, and then the certification exam itself. You will have 30 days post-Pro Summit to complete your program and take your final exam.  The certification exam is assigned to you the first business morning after passing the practice exam with a score of 85% or higher. The final exam is assigned between 10 AM EST and 1 PM EST and you will be notified when it is assigned. 

Topics prepare participants to use company setup options, user preferences, payroll system options, year-end processing tasks, completing adjustments and advanced features.

Exam Description and Topics

The ADP Certified Payroll Specialist in ADP Workforce Now exam is made up of
approximately 75 multiple-choice questions and is based on concepts and
experiences that should be familiar to a proficient Payroll practitioner with
at least six months’ experience, including year-end, using ADP Workforce Now.
The concepts and topic areas of the exam are derived from a training analysis
study.

The approximate percentage of questions in each area is shown in the following list:

  • ADP Workforce Now Configuration and Company-Level Setup (15%)
  • Payroll Cycle (25%)
  • Payroll Output Review (11%)
  • Employee Maintenance (13%)
  • Entering Pay Information (27%)
  • Manual Checks/Voids/Reversals (9%)

Please note that you may be tested on features that your company doesn’t frequently or currently use.
